Job Overview

Performs wet processes, and related racking and testing procedures necessary to supply our customer with high quality plating. Reports to the department Supervisor & Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend specific work instructions.
  • Maintaining proper plating bath chemistries, including performance of chemical titration's, basic auto-controller operation and temperature probe operation.
  • Upkeep plating area and all equipment through proper operation and handling procedures, such as keeping all hoses rolled, dragging tanks at end of shift, removal of empty drums, etc.
  • Visual in-process inspection and adhesion testing.
  • Proper performance of tasks required within the plating process like Testing and control of plating thickness.
  • Proper packaging of completed customer parts when required.
  • Utilize safe methods of handling material, including chemicals, required in all aspects of the plating process.
  • Various types of Respirators are required for this position. Respirator training, fit testing, & medical evaluations are also required for respirator issuance.
  • Lift 10-30 lbs. on a repetitive basis without assistance.
  • Stand on a continual basis for duration of shift.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic math skills to count quantities.
  • Flexible to changing responsibilities/priorities.
  • Reading comprehension skills required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Frequently moves parts/equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. across work area.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts:
    • Individuals who inspect material for final acceptance must have:
      • Color Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements.
      • Near-Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements
    • The Individual(s) must meet the minimum standards in one eye with or without glasses/contacts.

Travel


Local and overnight travel may be required occasionally.
