Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) - Plastics Manufacturing - Base Salary to 36.00/hour - Gardner, MA

  • Our client, a well-established plastics manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) to support overnight operations at their Gardner, MA facility. This position works a consistent 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM schedule and is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining injection molding equipment and related systems to ensure continuous production.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair injection molding machines and related production equipment
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs using schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation
  • Troubleshoot to the component level, including pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems
  • Resolve injection end issues using knowledge of machine tolerances and component clearances
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on molding machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Support machine changeovers and die changes to meet production schedules
  • Wire controllers to equipment, label wiring for safety, and document system updates
  • Monitor equipment performance and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime
  • Complete and track work orders, PMs, and maintenance activity within ERP system (IQMS)
  • Maintain organized maintenance stockroom and support spare parts tracking

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Programming, or Robotics, plus a minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Direct experience working on and troubleshooting plastics manufacturing equipment, including injection molding machines and related auxiliary systems
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, lubricants, and mechanical systems used in plastics processing equipment
  • Ability to read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Experience troubleshooting components such as pumps, valves, and sensors across multiple equipment types
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment repairs independently
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and maintenance documentation processes
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 35.00 – 36.00/hour range
  • Overtime opportunities available
