Job description

The Artisan Center for Plastic Surgery in Katy, TX is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to work in direct patient care. Duties include assisting the doctor with new and established surgical patients and serving as a patient liaison/care coordinator. The practice is 100% cosmetic, and all surgeries are done as outpatient. The scope of the practice is highly specific. An energetic personality with experience in cosmetic plastic surgery is highly desirable. The position has an estimated 16 to 24 hours per week and is flexible.

Specific Job-Related Duties
• Provide patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of Dr. Rodgers.
• Elicit detailed patient histories and specialized physical examinations.
• Counsel patients and family on procedures and expectations.
• Coordinate patient care, provide a smooth flow of patients from clinic to OR, field clinical phone calls and serve as a contact to patients and physicians.
• Manage patient prescription medication needs
• Assist in contacting patients to inquire about post-op status, report pathology results when appropriate, and provide patient education.
• Complete accurate, concise, and legible documentation on hospital records from surgical scheduling to discharge summaries.
• Perform related duties as required.
Preferred Skill/Competency:
• At least one-year experience in cosmetic Plastic Surgery
• Experience with Medical/Pharmaceutical sales
• Competency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Bilingual in Spanish (<10% of practice)
