Summary Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Plant Buyer. While reporting to the Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient flow of materials and information within our organization. Your role will involve coordinating various aspects of the supply chain, including inventory management, maintaining production schedule resources, minimizing delays and optimizing cost without compromising quality. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of products, optimizing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing:

  • Purchasing raw material and production supplies for production needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Work closely with the plant superintendent, scheduler, shipping associates, and divisional supply chain members.
  • Attend Production Meetings, Supply Chain Meetings, SCAR and other GPS Meetings as necessary.
  • Analyze purchasing trends and contribute to cost-saving strategies.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records, reports, and documentation.
  • Communicate with CSRs on any other issues or concerns.
  • Initiate and carry out supplier related claims.
  • Track shipments in transit, resolve any issues or delays, and provide timely updates to scheduler.
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies for raw materials and supplies purchase orders.
  • Verify incoming materials received against purchase orders
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Adapt to changing production demands, supplier availability, and shifting schedule timelines.

This is an ONSITE position located out of our Waco, TX Facility

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have a four-year degree, preferably in Business Management or the sciences.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency using Radius, PSA, Opendock, and Coupa.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Preferred logistics experience or understanding
