Job Description

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily/weekly/monthly work streams throughout the operation.Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, inbound, outbound, and returns processing.Responsible for the integration and coordination of production plans with leadership throughout the fulfillment center to ensure goals, objectives, and KPI targets are met throughout the business.This includes identifying issues, root causing problems, and resolving issues throughout the operational flow.Interact with the customer on a regular basis to review the sites operational performance, capacity restraint/solutions, and manage the throughput across all work streams of the business. Assist in facilitating and implementing continuous improvement projects throughout the business.The Production Planning Manager will work cohesively with the fulfillment centers leadership (GM's and OM's) to ensure associates comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safe, efficient operations and maintain positive working environment.


Partners with the Operations Team to ensure resource and capacity planning is executed in order to meet designated KPI metrics and service levels, productivity targets, labor efficiency, and operational efficiency.

Plans, manages, and adjusts workload and shift schedules to optimize fulfillment center resources in order to execute operational and service level requirements.

Creates and implements predictive analytics based on site trends, and forecasts.Responsible for working daily/weekly with the customer to compare predicted plans, and actual results, to customer provided forecasts.

Plans and manages fulfillment and returns processing activities to ensure compliance with customer expectations for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.Develops and implements action plans to address fulfillment performance concerns or improve operations.Maintains communication with operations departments and customer planning to ensure business priorities and risks are addressed in a timely manner.

Supports, facilitates, and implements continuous improvement projects throughout the fulfillment distribution center.

Manages standard and ad hoc reporting that supports production planning, and communication to the operation and customer.Is involved with managing budget, goals, and specific requirements of the business.

Communicates, applies, and enforces company philosophies, strategies, policies, procedures, and expectations to workforce staff throughout the distribution center.

Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause and corrective actions.

Provides guidance on conveyor safety, sanitation, quality, customer service, and maintenance.Delivers associate orientation, training, performance reviews, and/or development as appropriate.Ensures associates have proper access to necessary tools to perform assigned duties and that tools/equipment are routinely inspected and maintained.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, required

1-3 years logistics industry experience, required

2-4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, required

1-3 years of customer service or fulfillment center planning, required
