Job description

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.
SUMMARY:
The Line Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the production line. You will be a key player in ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in the manufacturing process. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate with various team members to achieve production goals.
Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to contribute to team success.
  • Quick thinker with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Able to work overtime when required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review production schedule to identify products for packing and filling.
  • Refer to the Finished Product Specification Book to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and test labeling machinery for accurate performance.
  • Input correct code dates for each product produced.
  • Report any discrepancies to Quality Assurance, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
  • Assist in training newly assigned staff in all production line positions as needed.
  • Collaborate with team to rework damaged products when the line is down.
  • Complete Batch Records for the assigned production lines.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance checks are performed on all line equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleanliness standards.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Maintenance, Warehouse personnel, and immediate supervisors or managers.
  • Accurately account for and report all unused materials or components to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure all staff adheres to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable Food Safety regulations.
  • Assign secondary tasks to ensure staff productivity during downtime.
  • Must be able to perform all tasks within their assigned production lines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager, Supervisor, or Floor Lead.
  • Other duties as assigned by Floor Leader or Supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending.
  • Ability to walk/stand for up to 10 hours.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination when handling products.
  • Capable of frequently lifting and carrying items weighing 25-45 lbs in a production environment.
  • Must adhere to proper PPE requirements in a manufacturing setting.
