Job description

The Team

Pinterest runs one of the largest visual discovery platforms on the planet - hundreds of millions of people, billions of Pins, and a compute footprint that has to keep growing without ever slowing down. We're now taking on one of the most ambitious infrastructure bets in the company's history: breaking out of a single region and a single infrastructure provider so Pinterest can scale further, faster, and more resiliently than ever before. This isn't an incremental project - it's a foundational shift in how Pinterest's infrastructure works, touching networking, compute, security, and every team that ships on top of it.

What You'll Do:

  • Sit at the center of one of Pinterest's highest-visibility infrastructure bets - owning execution across a portfolio of programs that are fundamentally reshaping how and where Pinterest runs its workloads at massive scale.
  • Turn ambiguity into a real, trusted operating system for the program: a shared decisions log, risk registry, and delivery tracker that senior leaders actually rely on.
  • Be the connective tissue across compute platform, networking, security, and traffic engineering teams - spotting the cross-team collisions before they become six-month delays, and driving them to resolution.
  • Shape the technical decision tenets that will govern how Pinterest expands its infrastructure footprint for years to come.
  • Own the staffing and capacity conversation, translating a fast-moving roadmap into resourcing asks leadership to act on.
  • Be the storyteller for the program: distill a genuinely complex, multi-team effort into sharp executive updates that drive real decisions.
  • Thrive in ambiguity - this program is still being built, and you'll have real influence over how it takes shape, not just a playbook to execute.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone who gets energized by hard, high-stakes infrastructure problems - the kind with no playbook, real technical depth, and a genuine chance to leave a mark on how a company of Pinterest's scale operates.

  • 10+ years of experience as a technical program manager or related experience, with a track record of owning outcomes, not just tracking them.
  • A real appetite for complexity: you want a program where the dependencies are gnarly, the stakes are high, and the path isn't obvious yet.
  • Significant experience leading large, cross-functional infrastructure programs with company-level impact,  you've been in the room where the hard tradeoffs get made, and you've helped make the call.
  • Strong technical judgment in cloud infrastructure: cross-region/cross-provider networking, service identity, container orchestration, and deployment pipelines - sharp enough to earn trust with senior engineers without writing the code yourself.
  • A bias for resolving cross-org conflict rather than escalating it, you know how to drive a decision across teams that don't report to you.
  • Excellent judgment balancing speed, reliability, security, and cost when the technical space is still evolving.
  • Executive-caliber communication, you can turn a genuinely messy, technical, multi-team problem into a crisp narrative leadership can act on.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure expansion, cloud platform migrations, or high-growth serving infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • B.S Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience

If you want a role where the scope is enormous, the problems are genuinely hard, and the impact is visible at the highest levels of the company, this is that role. Come help build the next chapter of Pinterest's infrastructure.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Relocation Statement:

  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.
