JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of our programs, including inpatient, residential, and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The RN plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care to individuals participating in these programs. The ideal candidate will have a background in psychiatric nursing, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to providing holistic care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct nursing assessments to evaluate the physical and mental health status of patients in the program assigned.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and collaborate with the treatment team to adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Monitor vital signs, mental health symptoms, and overall well-being of patients throughout the day program.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, including psychiatric crises.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients to support their mental health and overall well-being.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
• Provide health education to patients and their families, including medication management, symptom recognition, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to conduct educational groups on relevant health topics.
Job Description
• Work closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to treatment planning.
• Assist in managing psychiatric crises by providing immediate nursing interventions and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure timely completion of required documentation.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, D.C.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or a related mental health field.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook and other standard software applications.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
