Position Summary
The Student Services Coordinator leads efforts to enhance the student experience with a focus on retention, program completion, and addressing student needs. This role coordinates the accommodated testing process, collaborates with the CLAS Director of Student Success, and advances undergraduate and graduate engagement through initiatives such as new student orientation and campus visits. The coordinator also manages components of the graduate program, serving as the primary contact for prospective students, processing applications, and supporting student progression. In addition, the position develops recruitment strategies to attract and retain an inclusive student population while building partnerships with campus units and external organizations. The coordinator represents programs at conferences, resource fairs, and other recruitment venues, and collaborates with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs and the Graduate Assistant Program Administrator to support graduate assistant hiring. Other key responsibilities include maintenance of the scholarship database, as well as advising students on aspects of the scholarship process.
This position is required to be physically on campus 5 days per work week. Remote work may be available after the first 6 months based upon business need.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of experience in higher education
  • Prior experience with project management and public outreach.
  • Professional skills, experience, and/or willingness to engage in activities that would enhance our campus equity and inclusion efforts in alignment with the PSU President's strategic priority of Acting on Equity and Racial Justice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, close attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • The ability to be self-directed, flexible, proactive, think creatively, and work as part of an administrative team.
  • Experience working with Graduate Assistant Employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps

Knowledge of Slate, Banner, Cognos, and Scholarship Universe

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary for this position will be $55,704.
