Job description

Coker University is accepting applications for an Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach. This is a full-time position within the Department of Athletics reporting directly to the Head Volleyball Coach. This position is partially funded through the NCAA Assistant Coaching Grant.

The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists in the administration, development, and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division II women's volleyball program while supporting the mission, values, and strategic goals of Coker University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with the organization and operation of the women's volleyball program
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies
  • Assist with planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and competitive contests
  • Support the academic success, personal development, and well-being of student-athletes
  • Assist with scouting, video analysis, game preparation, and performance evaluation
  • Assist with team travel arrangements, equipment management, and other administrative tasks
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations
  • Represent Coker University and the Department of Athletics in a professional and positive manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Vice President of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
  • Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes
  • CPR certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division II level
  • Recruiting experience at the collegiate level
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with recruiting databases and video technology
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards
