Job description

Balm of Gilead Health & Wellness Center is seeking a seasoned Addiction counselor to join our team. The Addiction Counselor provides counseling and case management treatment services to clients with substance use disorders through the use of interventions, treatment, rehabilitation, and support to promote long-term stability.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to successfully create a positive non-judgmental and a safe atmosphere suitable for open discussion for clients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction
  • Experience with group facilitation for individuals dealing/recovering from drug and alcohol abuse
  • Maintain accurate and updated client records
  • Respond, as needed, to client grievances and treatment concerns
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications | Certifications:

  • Maryland Certification: ADT; CSC-AD; CAC-AD or Maryland Licensed: LGADC
  • Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward client
