Job Description

The Director, Finance Business Partner is a senior Finance leader accountable for strategic finance business partnering to Global Commercial. The role supports Function Heads and leadership teams by embedding financial insight, challenge, and enterprise perspective into functionlevel strategy, prioritisation, and execution decisions.

The Director actively shapes outcomes within the function, influencing priorities, tradeoffs, and resource deployment, while operating within established enterprise frameworks, governance and leading effectively across a crossmatrixed organization to align stakeholders and drive outcomes. The role is expected to translate strategy into financially sound decisions and to strengthen the quality of financial thinking across the function.

Finance Business Partnering

  • Act as the lead Finance adviser to Function Heads and senior leadership teams

  • Embed Finance into functionlevel strategic and operational decisionmaking through insight, challenge, and recommendation

  • Provide financial leadership for a global [function] with responsibility for a budget of $X across multiple regions/business units

  • Own the financial planning, forecasting, and performance outcomes for the function, ensuring delivery against financial targets and alignment with enterprise objectives

  • Build strong seniorlevel relationships to influence priorities and outcomes within the function

  • Represent Finance perspectives within the function and promote alignment with broader enterprise objectives

Performance Management & Insight

  • Lead seniorlevel performance discussions focused on function and portfolio performance, drivers, risks, and opportunities

  • Provide forwardlooking insight to support improved outcomes and corrective action

  • Drive cost discipline, productivity, and value optimisation within the function

  • Escalate material risks and opportunities where enterprise alignment or intervention is required

Decision Support & Analysis

  • Lead financial evaluation of significant functionlevel initiatives and investments

  • Frame options, tradeoffs, and implications to support senior leadership decisions

  • Ensure recommendations are supported by robust analysis and transparent assumptions

  • Influence decisions by shaping alternatives within the function's strategic context

Financial Governance & Controls

  • Apply and enforce financial governance frameworks to ensure disciplined decisionmaking

  • Review and challenge business cases and investment proposals within the function

  • Ensure compliance with Finance policies, controls, and approval requirements

  • Strengthen accountability and transparency within the functional decision process


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Qualified accountant or MBA

  • Typically, 12+ years' progressive finance experience, including senior business partnering roles

  • Strong lifesciences business understanding (e.g. R&D, Tech Ops, Commercial, or regulated environments)

  • Proven ability to influence and challenge senior leaders with confidence and credibility

  • Proactivity and curiosity mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence effectively within a complex, crossmatrixed organization

  • Strong commercial judgement, enterprise mindset, and leadership presence

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$180,000.00 - $270,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
