As a Pest Control Technician at The Bug Master, you'll travel in a company-provided vehicle to provide pest control services to homes, commercial businesses, and multi-family properties. You'll work independently in the field, applying targeted treatments, educating customers, and delivering top-tier service that reflects our commitment to quality. Requirements

Includes but are not limited to the following, as additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Carefully read and understand the Customer Service Agreement to provide appropriate service.
  • Drive to client sites to inspect the building or structure to determine options for treating and reaching the pest infestation most effectively.
  • Research information, when necessary, to verify the pest-related problem and to identify specific solutions.
  • Determine/verify the most feasible (efficient and effective) treatment plan.
  • Identify proactive ways customers can further prevent pest infestations. Communicate information to customers and educate them on pest facts/prevention.
  • When necessary, drill holes or open targeted areas of the structure to gain access to infestations.
  • Clean work site after completion of the job.
  • Apply treatment at specified level according to company/label requirements. Inspect work for completeness, quality, and accuracy.
  • Continually build professional relationships with customers.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Complete all required service records, customer reports, and time records, in accordance with company procedures and state/federal regulations.
  • Regularly keep on top of current industry trends, regulations, technical data, new products, safety standards, construction materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and state/federal safety standards, regulations, equipment, and procedures.
  • Inform management of any customer issues or concerns that are not completely resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Report to management any damage that occurs as a result of treatment. Provide necessary information for appropriate repairs to be made.
  • Properly maintain all service equipment, including but not limited to vehicles. Immediately refer any problems to management. Clean equipment and vehicles regularly and as required.
  • Prepare all equipment and vehicle before beginning each day.
  • Seek out potential clients by performing cold calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a customer-facing or service-related role preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including active listening.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets and pesticide labels.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of pest biology and integrated pest management is preferred.


Licensing & Requirements

  • Valid Texas apprentice, technician, or certified applicator license (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, and climbing stairs or ladders (including multi-story buildings).
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, confined spaces, rooftops, and attics.
  • Frequent use of chemicals including liquids, dusts, baits, aerosols, and traps.
  • Daily use of a company vehicle and mobile technology.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including respirators, gloves, and safety boots.
  • Work is performed in both climate-controlled and non-controlled environments, including areas infested with pests.
