Summary

The Technician is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality pest control services while maximizing route efficiency, production, and customer retention. This role functions as the primary owner of the customer experience in the field, ensuring services are executed correctly, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. A key priority for this role is executing service with precision, minimizing callbacks and missed stops, and building long-term customer relationships through quality and trust.


Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Route Completion & Efficiency

  • Complete assigned route daily
  • Minimize missed stops and reschedules
  • Maintain efficient routing and time management
  • Ensure all scheduled services are completed or properly resolved
  • Communicate with support staff to update account information when needed to improve completion rate


Service Quality & Delivery

  • Perform treatments according to label, company standards, and defined scope
  • Ensure all work meets quality expectations before leaving the site
  • Maintain clean, professional work areas including vehicle and job sites

Customer Experience

  • Educate customers on pest issues, treatments, and prevention
  • Build trust and long-term customer relationships
  • Resolve customer concerns in the field whenever possible
  • Deliver service with a focus on retention and customer satisfaction

Production Performance

  • Achieve daily and weekly production targets
  • Identify and execute appropriate upsell opportunities
  • Maximize productivity while maintaining service quality

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all pesticide label requirements and safety standards
  • Maintain licensing and regulatory compliance (TDA)
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures

Documentation & Communication

  • Complete all service records accurately and in real time
  • Document service details, findings, and recommendations
  • Escalate issues, damages, or unresolved concerns immediately

Equipment & Vehicle Management

  • Maintain clean, stocked, and operational vehicle and equipment
  • Perform daily readiness and safety checks
  • Ensure all tools and materials are available for scheduled work

Requirements

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Highschool diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a customer-facing or service-related role preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including active listening.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets and pesticide labels.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of pest biology and integrated pest management is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Texas apprentice, technician, or certified applicator license (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, and climbing stairs or ladders (including multi-story buildings).
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions, confined spaces, rooftops, and attics.
  • Frequent use of chemicals including liquids, dust, baits, aerosols, and traps.
  • Daily use of company vehicles and mobile technology.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including respirators, gloves, and safety boots.
  • Work is performed in both climate-controlled and non-controlled environments, including areas infested with pests.
