AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Location: Pentagon, Arlington, VA
Clearance Required: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Employment Type: Full-time, on-site
We are seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support sensitive government and industrial security programs. This role is ideal for a security professional with strong experience in personnel security administration, SCI/SAP processes, and government security systems such as DISS and Scattered Castles.

Responsibilities
As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will:
  • Administer personnel security programs in support of DoW and industrial security requirements, ensuring compliance with government and company policies and procedures
  • Track and maintain personnel security data, including:
    • clearance status
    • SAP access
    • security training records
    • personnel information files (PIFs)
    • visit authorization requests/certifications
  • Support government security teams with:
    • Program Access Request (PAR) processing
    • SCI nominations
    • indoctrinations
    • debriefings
    • related personnel security actions
  • Review, process, and track PAR packages and other personnel security actions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Make initial eligibility determinations using DISS, Scattered Castles, and other personnel security tools, and provide recommendations supporting government access decisions
  • Maintain accurate personnel security records, questionnaires, PIAs, debrief documentation, and other access-related files in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct annual personnel security reviews and support corrective actions to maintain compliance
  • Develop, update, and maintain Personnel Security SOPs and related process documentation
  • Provide personnel security guidance, onboarding/orientation support, refresher training, and briefings to employees, managers, and program personnel
  • Serve as a liaison with DoD, IC, and customer security offices on personnel security matters
  • Manage access rosters, prepare reports for government leadership, and support reporting related to:
    • adverse information
    • foreign travel
    • continuous evaluation requirements
  • Resolve personnel security issues, discrepancies, and administrative actions in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required;Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant DoD or Intelligence Community security experience, with a strong focus on personnel security
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • PAR processing
    • SCI nomination packages
    • indoctrinations and debriefings
    • personnel security record maintenance
  • Knowledge of DoD, DoN, and/or IC SCI and SAP personnel security processes
  • Experience using DISS, Scattered Castles, and other government personnel security systems/databases
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $105,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
