Job description

We are seeking a diligent and highly organized Bodily Injury Defense Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and case management support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys and paralegals in managing a busy litigation caseload, focusing on gathering evidence, organizing records, and preparing documentation for defending clients against bodily injury claims. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Information and Record Management:
  • Obtain, review, organize, and summarize various case materials, including medical records, billing statements, police reports, witness statements, and insurance documentation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive and accurate physical and electronic case files.
  • Document Preparation and Filing:
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production), subpoenas, and affidavits for attorney review.
  • Electronically file legal documents with state and federal courts, adhering to all applicable rules and procedures.
  • Case Coordination and Scheduling:
  • Manage attorney calendars and track critical deadlines, including statutes of limitation, court dates, and discovery cutoffs.
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and client/witness meetings, coordinating with all involved parties.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel offices, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
  • Litigation and Trial Support:
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, pre-trial investigations, arbitrations, and trials.


Administrative Support:

  • Provide back-up assistance when necessary with answering phones, supply orders, additional tasks as needed.


Required Qualifications and Skills
