WHO ARE YOU?
As a Permit Analyst, you'll play a key role in streamlining permit processing, ensuring timely and efficient completion across multiple states. You'll be involved in exciting projects related to energy modeling and reporting while managing crucial tracking logs and generating monthly reports for the Department of Permitting Services (DPS). This role offers the opportunity to problem-solve and drive success by identifying and overcoming obstacles, all while maintaining clear communication with management and leveraging your expertise in data management through Excel and SharePoint. While prior experience with permitting or energy modeling software is a plus, we offer comprehensive training to set you up for success. Bring your attention to detail, strong time management skills, and ability to communicate effectively to make a meaningful impact in this dynamic and rewarding role.
THE ROLE
Job Location:
This position is based in our main office in Fairfax, VA with the option of a hybrid remote/office work schedule after the completion of the employee's 90 Day Performance Review.
Essential Functions:
  • Consistently complete 15 permits daily ensuring that daily permits meet the 3 Day TAT (Turn Around Time)
  • Assist with processing permits in at least 4 states
  • Assist with HERC (Home Energy Rating Certification) Modeling
  • Responsible for the Monthly DPS (Department of Permitting Services) Report
  • Responsible for the tracking of DPS/Stamped Reports and updating the Tracking Log
  • Communicate any auditing areas to Management and provide options for resolution
  • Develop workarounds to overcome obstacles in the critical path
  • Integrate, review, and validate critical relationships with primary parties
  • Receive and understand client constraints
  • Manage and control all data through Excel and Share-Point

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy, Sustainability, Engineering or related field is preferred
  • Must have prior experience in data entry, data analysis, or similar projects in a school or professional setting
  • Familiarity with the permitting process and HERC Modeling is not required but is a PLUS
  • Experience with energy modeling software (such as Ekotrope, REMrate, Google Sketchup) is not required but is a PLUS
  • Training will be provided and is required for this position.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in Sketch-Up Basics
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, data entry management, and time management skills
  • Must have strong software skills with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word
