Search & Comparison IntentJob stability, contract type, employment statusJob duties, client interaction, leasing process

Both roles involve leasing properties and may require similar credentials. The key difference is that a Permanent Temporary Leasing Agent is employed on a fixed-term basis, offering temporary employment, while a Leasing Consultant typically holds a permanent position. Understanding these distinctions helps job seekers find roles aligned with their employment preferences and career goals.

Are permanent temporary leasing agent jobs worth it?

Permanent temporary leasing agent jobs can offer flexibility and experience in property management, often requiring strong communication and customer service skills. However, they may lack long-term job security and benefits compared to permanent positions, so their value depends on individual career goals and circumstances.

Where do permanent temporary leasing agents make the most money?

Permanent temporary leasing agents tend to earn higher wages in regions with a high cost of living and strong rental markets, such as major metropolitan areas. Compensation can also increase with experience, certifications, and the complexity of properties managed, often supplemented by commissions or bonuses based on leasing performance.

Why is it so hard to get a permanent temporary leasing agent job?

Permanent temporary leasing agent positions are competitive because they often require relevant experience, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of leasing software. Employers may prefer candidates with certifications or prior leasing experience, and the temporary nature of the role can limit long-term employment opportunities, making it harder to secure these positions.

Job description

True Residential, Inc., a Veritas Investments' company, is committed to creating welcoming and inspiring homes that reflect how and where Angelenos want to live and work. We tailor each community to the unique character of its surrounding neighborhood. Drawing on our expertise in the multifamily housing industry, we provide residents with exceptional service and a rewarding living experience. Our carefully curated portfolio includes just under 50 properties in pedestrian-friendly, highly desirable urban markets throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
True Residential, Inc. is seeking a Temporary Leasing Agent to join our team from August through December 2026. In this client-facing role, you will build relationships with prospective residents, deliver exceptional service, and help the team meet occupancy goals. The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sales-oriented environment.
As a Temporary Leasing Agent, you will receive pre-qualified leads from our Inside Sales team and guide prospects through the leasing journey-from scheduling tours and showcasing available homes to assisting with the application process. You will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective residents and collaborate closely with our Leasing Coordinators, who manage lease execution and move-in, to ensure a seamless client experience.
Your Role:
  • Present and communicate information about our vibrant Los Angeles neighborhoods and available units to potential residents.
  • Guide prospects through every step of the leasing process, from tours to move-in, while adhering to Fair Housing laws and True Residential, Inc.'s leasing policies.
  • Manage and track your leads to secure leases and support occupancy goals.
  • Stay knowledgeable about the rental market and apply that expertise in each client interaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and departments to surpass goals.
  • Offer exceptional customer service and build strong rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and self-motivation in a role that allows for autonomy and growth.

Who You Are: You are a dedicated, client-first real estate professional who is available for the full temporary assignment from August through December 2026. With a proven record of success in multifamily leasing, you know how to build relationships, close transactions, and generate repeat and referral business.
  • You have an active and unrestricted CA real estate license.
  • At least two years of leasing experience in the Los Angeles multifamily market.
  • A results-driven individual with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service.
  • You leverage technology to maximize efficiency and stay organized.
  • High energy and self-motivated, you thrive in a sales-oriented environment.

Qualifications:
  • CA Real Estate License (required)
  • Deep understanding of Los Angeles rental laws
  • Proven leasing, sales, and closing skills
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems is a plus
  • Reliable transportation for frequent travel across Los Angeles
  • Ability to navigate stairs and tour units as needed

Working Conditions: This temporary assignment is expected to run from August through December 2026. Travel throughout Los Angeles is required to tour available homes and meet with prospective residents across multiple neighborhoods.
Compensation: This temporary position is 100% commission-based, offering uncapped earning potential for motivated professionals.
Join our team for this temporary assignment and make a meaningful impact on the Los Angeles rental market. We look forward to seeing what you can achieve!
