Job description

Overview
Responsible for all performance and reconciliation functions, including the prioritization of projects and ad-hoc requests for Fort Washington Investment Advisors. Oversees the calculation and delivery of portfolio and composite performance on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis from Eagle Pace. Plays integral role in firm wide compliance with GIPS standards. Oversees daily and monthly reconciliation functions for Institutional and PCG business lines.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
  • Partners with AVP, Performance and Reconciliation, on strategic direction for function. This includes developing overarching objectives and vision for the department.
  • Identifies and reports on strategic metrics to AVP, Performance and Reconciliation, on key risks, staffing analysis, etc.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the calculation and delivery of portfolio and composite performance on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis from Eagle PACE for the Institutional and Private Client Group lines of business.
  • Oversees daily import and allocation of benchmark data.
  • Develops framework to increase the efficiency and decrease the risk for error within the performance department by maximizing the effectiveness of technology used.
  • Oversees GIPS workflow and works closely with Marketing to produce and enhance generation of performance returns for marketing collateral, new client presentations, and requests for proposals, consultant questionnaires, etc.
  • Creates and refines definition of all PACE processes used as analytical tools to verify accuracy of performance data.
  • Oversees daily and monthly reconciliation of transactions and holdings between FWIA, Bloomberg and custodian banks (approximately 500 accounts at 45 custodians).
  • Oversees the voluntary and mandatory corporate action workflow, including CLOs.
  • Regularly partner with other areas within the Enterprise (i.e., Investment Accounting, Cash Management) to ensure transactions are posted in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in all internal audit, GIPS, SEC and NASD examinations as needed.
  • Works directly with AVP, Performance and Reconciliation, and Managing Director, Investment Operations, on special projects as needed.
  • Provides direction to and development of associates through daily coaching, the administration of the Performance Management Model, and the creation and implementation of development plans. Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Finance or accounting preferred - Required
  • Master's Degree Advanced degree (i.e., MBA, CFA, CIPM) - Preferred
  • Proven understanding and experience of the financial services industry. - Required
  • Proven knowledge of investments and Investment Operations. - Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes within an organization to improve efficiency and reduce risk. - Required
  • Proven leadership experience supporting teams and achieving strong results with a collaborative approach. Must possess strong feedback and coaching skills. - Required
  • Demonstrated superior project management skills, especially pertaining to technical projects and vague or unknown initial requirements. - Preferred
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across organizational boundaries and effectively build relationships inside and outside of the organization (e.g., Clients, CIO, CEO, Portfolio Managers). - Required
  • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions with the ability to conceptualize and use new methodologies. Must be able to cite examples of good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives. - Required
  • Demonstrated overall strong business knowledge in accounting, operations, customer service, systems and compliance. - Required
  • Strong technical aptitude related to systems, technology and data. - Required
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. - Required
  • Extensive experience with Investment Management software. - Preferred

Work Setting/Position Demands:
  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
  • Occasional after-hours work needed.
