Job description

Business Unit:
Capital Solutions
Industry:
General
Overview
Houlihan Lokey, Inc. (NYSE:HLI) is a leading global investment bank recognized for delivering independent strategic and financial advice to corporations, financial sponsors, and governments. With uniquely deep industry expertise, broad international reach, and a partnership approach rooted in trust, the firm provides innovative, integrated solutions across mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions, financial restructuring, and financial and valuation advisory. Our unmatched transaction volumes provide differentiated, data-driven perspectives that help our clients achieve their most critical goals. To learn more about Houlihan Lokey, please visit HL.com.
Capital Solutions
Houlihan Lokey's Capital Solutions Group comprises ~200 professionals globally and offers clients a broad range of tailored financing alternatives and strategic financial advice. Our team has deep senior-level relationships across the capital markets and a long track record of raising capital across varying market conditions. With deep expertise in both private and public markets, we are committed to delivering innovative, value-enhancing solutions that support long-term success for our clients.
Houlihan Lokey's Directs Advisory Group partners with private equity sponsors and institutional investors to raise transaction-specific third-party capital. Directs is a fast-growing segment within Houlihan Lokey's Capital Solutions Group. We engage once a client has identified a specific deal and requires incremental capital to close, running fast-paced, competitive processes to secure the right long-term capital partners. Our work includes preparing marketing materials (i.e., investment memo, financial model, etc.), positioning the equity story to a diverse investor community, facilitating diligence, advising on optimal capital structures, negotiating transaction terms, and ultimately filling the syndicate. We raise bespoke solutions across the capital stack-including common equity, preferred equity, and structured solutions-across the majority of sectors and geographies.
Directs enables investors to deploy capital into specific companies with full underwriting, transparency, and control, rather than through blind-pool fund structures. Once a niche market, Directs global deal volume has tripled since 2019. Over the next decade, Directs is expected to represent up to half of all annual private equity capital raised. Houlihan Lokey is at the forefront of this evolution, with a rapidly growing team built to connect high-quality sponsors with the right long-term capital partners.
You Will:
  • Work side-by-side with senior leadership to assist in evaluating, structuring, and executing single-asset transactions across a broad range of industries with unique capital needs.
  • Help lead live capital-raising processes from start to finish, including coordinating investor outreach, participating in investor calls, and facilitating diligence.
  • Enhance corporate finance, capital-raising, and diligence skills, while building a strong understanding of the equity and debt capital markets.
  • Grow through direct mentorship in a collegial, entrepreneurial environment that rewards strong performance with substantial responsibility and senior-level exposure.

Qualifications:
  • At least three years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, private equity, or a similar advisory or buy-side role, with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently while collaborating with a close-knit team.
  • Deep understanding of accounting and corporate finance, with the ability to analyze businesses and evaluate risk/return profiles.
  • Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of asset-level due diligence and basic transaction processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Candidate must possess or be willing to obtain the SIE, Series 63, Series 7, and Series 79 licenses.

Compensation and Benefits
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$175,000-$200,000
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
Houlihan Lokey provides a competitive benefits package. Our current benefits offerings can be found here:
2026 Benefits
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
