Monarch Group is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent Financial. We take a comprehensive, client centered approach to helping individuals and families achieve multiple financial goals. Wealth Advisor Benjamin Koehlinger works closely with clients to analyze their current financial situation, develop in depth plans, and implement integrated financial strategies.
The Associate provides high-quality client service and advice, as well as operational support to Benjamin Koehlinger and the Monarch Group. This role serves as the primary contact for assigned developing and emerging client relationships, while also supporting the advisor's established and growth client base. Responsibilities are approximately evenly split between these two areas.
The Associate contributes to the firm's long-term growth by delivering consistent, compliant, and detail-oriented service and advice, and by independently executing client requests, transactions, and day-to-day practice operations within established firm processes and licensing guidelines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, client-focused, and professional, with strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including support for required licensing and ongoing development.
This position is employed by and reports directly to Benjamin R. Koehlinger.
Associate Position Responsibilities:
  • Support client service needs by preparing forms, processing transactions and trades, and coordinating service requests.
  • Provide responsive and professional client communication, including scheduling coordination, account maintenance support, and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with practice operations, including calendar management, mail processing, client communications, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Research client inquiries and assist with meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-up, including notes organization.
  • Prepare, process, and submit paper and electronic applications, service documents, and account updates.
  • Run product illustrations and support proposal and presentation preparation.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, the practice team, Thrivent home office partners, and third-party providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, transactions, and service activity.
  • Adhere to established workflows, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional administrative duties or special projects as assigned, based on business needs and level of experience.
  • Conduct client interactions and advice-related activities in alignment with licensing and supervisory guidelines.

Experience & Education:
  • Prior experience supporting client service and transactions in financial services or advisory practice (2+ years preferred).
  • High school diploma required; additional education in a financial services-related field preferred.
  • California Life and Health Insurance License.
  • FINRA registration: Series 7.
  • FINRA registration: Series 66, or 63 and 65.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Total Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 (based on experience and performance)

As part of the Monarch Group recruiting and hiring process, background verification is required. Fingerprints will be submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for review against nationwide fingerprint records.
