Project Manager I
SUMMARY
The Project Manager I acts as the primary point of contact (POC) on customer specific and internally driven projects. As the POC, they will establish and maintain project plans, recurring action item lists (RAILS), report progress internally and externally, and manage to the Scope of Work per the defined financial budget and deliverables schedule to ensure successful project completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Managing project development and execution from initiation to closure.
  • Work with the project sponsor (internal or external) for the initiation and execution of the phase gate process.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule from launch to completion.
  • Communicate clearly the project expectations to the project sponsor and team members.
  • Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the project cycle.
  • Prepare bills and invoices, as well as budgetary and progress reports.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Track and provide compliance reports on project budget and milestone schedule to project sponsor and management as requested.
  • Leading, coaching, and motivating members of the project team.
  • Capture project results and lead post-project evaluations to determine the level of team success and need for process improvements.
  • Works to become an industry and internal expert (knowledge resource) on the products and systems for which they are responsible.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Leads or assists efforts in creating statements of work when such is not provided by the customer.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Customer relationship development and maintenance.
  • Continuous improvement in processes, documents, and reports.
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of project management/similar experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other Project Management accredited certifications (CAPM) preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

JOB SKILLS
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
  • Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Writing skills are required to complete documents and forms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding.   • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
