Summary:
The Performance Excellence Lead (PEL) supports Memorial Healthcare System by rapidly deploying high-impact teams to execute transformative and operational priorities that deliver measurable financial results, scalable solutions, and sustainable organizational value. This role leverages adaptive, data-driven methodologies-including process improvement and project management-to identify opportunities, lead performance-based initiatives, provide continuous improvement training and coaching, and advise senior leaders on prioritization of enterprise improvement efforts. The PEL partners with executive leadership, division leaders, and frontline teams lead large-scale initiatives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and establish governance, accountability, and standardized practices that translate strategy into measurable outcomes across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Partners with leaders and cross-functional teams to align initiatives, share best practices, and drive synergies and efficiencies across projects and workstreams.Leads project teams to deliver objectives on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with performance targets.Lead team members to adopt and leverage established methodologies, data driven projects, and change management strategies.Builds and maintains strong relationships with executive leaders, operational leaders, and sponsors to align initiatives with strategic priorities.Manages multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives using standardized project management tools, metrics, and governance to achieve sustainable operational results.Leads large-scale, high-priority process improvement initiatives from assessment through implementation, sustainment, and strategic deployment using data-driven decision making.Establish performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and recognize and reward outstanding achievements.Communicates progress, risks, recommendations, and resolve stakeholder concerns to ensure successful outcomes.Inspire and enable high-performing team responsible for performance excellence, performance improvement and designing and implementing key operational and performance driven initiatives.Identifies enterprise opportunities to improve value, service excellence, and organizational performance while fostering a high-performing culture.Develops and executes change management strategies that support adoption of new solutions, redesigned workflows, and successful implementation.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.Develops, refines, and scales continuous improvement methodologies, service offerings, and prioritized pipelines of improvement opportunities.Provides proactive updates to leadership on project progress, value realization, risks, barriers, and overall implementation success.Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members, promoting their growth and success.

Complexity of Work: Proven track record in deploying performance improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, Strategy A3, Method Execution Plans and the Shingo Model, and driving sustainable improvements. Strong understanding of operational excellence principles and tools. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve organizational objectives. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
Required Work Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in facilitating business transformation and large-scale performance improvement initiatives, performance excellence, performance improvement, or a related field within a large multi-state healthcare integrated delivery system or consulting background. Proven track record of achieving breakthrough results through implementation of large-scale projects and value-added change.
Other Information: Additional education information: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.Master's degree preferred.
