Familiarity with tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, APM solutions, and cloud platforms is typically required, along with knowledge of performance monitoring and automation frameworks. Job description

The Business Operations group is fanatically focused on building systems to accelerate business growth and drive enterprise value. Our portfolio includes CRM and its peripherals, billing, subscription management, finance & accounting, recruiting, business intelligence systems, and more. While we use the best third party tools on the market, we also have an inclination to build our own apps when we know we can do it better.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to coordinate and manage the efforts of 3-5 teams (8-10 people) on the greater Business Operations team. This will be a hybrid of technical and people management with an emphasis on people and process. The delivery of the milestones on one or more roadmaps is a main responsibility in this role. The teams are made up of Tech Leads and individual contributors at all experience levels. We see this role as being 80% people management and 20% hands on coding.
Here's what you'll do in this role:
  • Manage the professional growth, performance reviews, onboarding, offboarding, and resource planning for your entire team
  • Directly manage all Tech Leads and individual contributors
  • Implement sound engineering practices and processes to deliver roadmap milestones
  • Work with Product Managers to determine the proper definition of "done" and push your team to hit goals
  • Work with Product Managers to manage the proper grooming of the backlog
  • Become an expert on the systems you are responsible for including:
    • Microservices used
    • Database schemas
    • Data integrity
  • Drive and contribute to all design decisions that will affect the greater engineering team
You have:
  • Experience working in a Scrum (or similar) environment
  • Experience running a small technical team
  • Proven track record of delivery against predictable milestones
  • Experience debugging code
  • Interest in contributing to the code base occasionally
