Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

Rivian is building one of the most reliable, high-performance fast charging networks in the country, the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN). As Senior Manager, Head of East, you will lead the strategy, pipeline, and execution of RAN expansion across the Eastern United States.

This role sits above individual markets, owning regional performance end-to-end. You will guide where we prioritize, how we scale, and which partnerships unlock the next phase of growth. You will lead a team of Regional Managers and Associates, ensuring strong pipeline health, disciplined execution, and consistent delivery across the region.

The Rivian Adventure Network is more than infrastructure, it’s a critical part of the ownership experience and a key driver of EV adoption.

In this role, you will shape the eastern footprint of the network, defining not just where we go, but how we show up. Your leadership will directly influence the pace, quality, and impact of deployment across some of the most important EV markets in the country.

Responsibilities
Own Regional Strategy & Performance (east)
  • Define and continuously refine the market strategy across the Eastern U.S.
  • Prioritize markets based on demand, infrastructure readiness, and strategic importance
  • Ensure alignment between regional execution and Rivian’s broader network vision
  • Own regional targets, performance tracking, and delivery outcomes
Build & Expand Strategic Partnerships
  • Establish and maintain senior relationships with key partners across the region, including:
    • Retailers and national brands
    • REITs and institutional property owners
    • Cities and municipalities
    • Economic Development Councils
  • Establish portfolio-level and multi-market partnerships that accelerate scale
  • Act as an executive point of contact for priority partners
  • Identify opportunities to unlock incremental value beyond charging within key partnerships, working closely with Business Development to expand scope and impact
Lead & Develop the Team
  • Manage and further develop a team of Regional Managers and Transaction Managers
  • Create clarity on priorities, expectations, and performance standards
  • Coach team members on deal strategy, negotiations, and pipeline management
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on extreme ownership, accountability, and execution excellence
Drive Pipeline Health & Scale
  • Ensure the region maintains a strong, balanced pipeline aligned to quarterly and long-term goals
  • Review and guide pipeline composition across markets and partners
  • Identify gaps early and redirect resources to maintain forward momentum
  • Standardize best practices for tracking, reporting, and execution across the region
Guide Deal Strategy & Execution
  • Support teams in navigating complex negotiations and high-value deals
  • Provide strategic input on commercial structures and partnership models
  • Help remove blockers and escalate issues when needed to maintain deal velocity
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with GTM, Business Development, Design, Engineering (EOR), Construction, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment from site acquisition through delivery as well as programmatic improvements and partnerships.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional leadership, sharing real-time market insights, emerging opportunities, and on-the-ground constraints
  • Drive consistency and rigor in how projects move through approvals and into execution
Operational Rigor & Planning
  • Establish clear, actionable regional plans to achieve quarterly goals and KPIs
  • Drive disciplined execution across all markets, ensuring accountability at every level of the team
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and templates to increase efficiency, visibility, and predictability
  • Implement a consistent operating cadence to track performance, surface risks early, and maintain forward momentum
Champion the RAN Value Proposition
  • Ensure the team deeply understands and consistently communicates Rivian’s value proposition
  • Elevate partner conversations from transactional negotiations to long-term, strategic partnerships
  • Reinforce a long-term, network-first mindset in all deal-making and market decisions
  • Set a high bar for how RAN shows up in the market, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and partner experience

Qualifications
  • 8-12+ years of experience in real estate, site acquisition, business development, sales or related fields
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering results at scale
  • Strong experience building and managing pipelines across multiple markets
  • Experience negotiating complex, multi-site or portfolio-level partnerships
  • Ability to operate both strategically (regional level) and tactically (deal level)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills
  • Extreme ownership mindset with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Strong existing relationships with major regional or national partners
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Operator mindset: you don’t just set strategy, you ensure it gets executed
