UNC Hospitals Department of Audiology is seeking a Per Diem Audiologist to provide clinical coverage when clinical staff are out on PTO or leave. This role to provide outpatient diagnostic audiology services across the lifespan at multiple locations, including:

  • Orange County: UNC Hospitals Hearing & Voice Clinic at Carolina Crossing
  • Chatham County: UNC Hospitals Audiology at Pittsboro
  • Wake County: UNC Audiology Services at Cary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic audiologic services for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a collaborative academic medical center environment. The role will focus on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders through evidence-based audiologic evaluation and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespan
  • Conduct behavioral, physiologic, and electrophysiologic assessments as clinically indicated
  • Interpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment recommendations
  • Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, communication needs, and management options
  • Collaborate closely with otolaryngologists and other healthcare professionals in the evaluation and management of hearing and balance disorders
  • Participate in student education and clinical training activities as appropriate

Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Audiologist experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills
Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes.
