99POSITION SUMMARY:
Bucks County Public Defender Office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Per Diem Legal Intern to support our legal team on an as-needed basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a current law student to gain practical legal experience in a flexible environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong research and writing skills, and be able to commit to varying hours based on workload.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other online and traditional resources.
  • Draft and edit legal documents, including memos, briefs, pleadings, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Assist with discovery, including document review and organization.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files.
  • Summarize depositions, transcripts, and other legal documents.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including creating exhibits and witness binders.
  • Attend client meetings, depositions, and court proceedings (as appropriate and with supervision).
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the legal team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm information.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program.
  • 3L student preferred with Certification

  • Familiarity with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis) preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
