The Team
The Manager of People Operations will serve as a strategic People partner embedded within the Tax People Operations function, supporting the US Tax practice's Private Capital team. This role works collaboratively across the People Team and with Tax leadership to support consistent, high-quality people programs, processes, and experiences. The position focuses on enabling the business through thoughtful people strategies, strong execution, and alignment with firmwide and Global People Organization priorities.
This role is well-suited for a leader who balances strategic perspective with practical execution, contributes to People initiatives across Tax, and supports leaders and teams through periods of growth and change.
How you will contribute
  • Partner with Tax leaders and the People Team to support the execution of people priorities, workforce needs, and key initiatives across the Tax practice.
  • Leverage workforce data and insights to inform discussions related to organizational structure, capacity planning, and talent-related decisions.
  • Support the development and delivery of People programs focused on performance management, engagement, and career development.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and onboarding partners to support hiring and integration needs, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and diversity objectives.
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Tax leaders to help implement learning initiatives addressing technical, professional, and leadership development needs.
  • Assist with career architecture, succession planning, and mentorship initiatives that promote growth, retention, and internal mobility.
  • Serve as a People Operations partner to managers by providing guidance on employee relations matters, organizational effectiveness, and change initiatives impacting the Tax practice.
  • Support the execution of core talent management processes, including performance management cycles, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities, in collaboration with People Team colleagues.
  • Contribute to special projects and evolving business needs with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.
  • This role requires regular in-office presence in New York City three days a week to support key stakeholders and collaboration needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience considered. Experience in Professional Services is strongly preferred. Advanced degree(s) or certification(s) (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PMP) are a plus.
  • 7-10 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or Talent Management, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Experience supporting and executing People programs across multiple stakeholder groups or business lines.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, manage competing priorities, and support change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and partner collaboratively with leaders, managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI; comfort working with data for reporting and insights.

The salary range is $110,000 - $130,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
