Job Description
Penguin Random House is seeking a creative and highly organized Video Producer to join our Digital Marketing team. This role will be responsible for developing, producing, and delivering compelling video content for the Penguin Young Readers group that promotes our books, authors, and brands across digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings skills as a storyteller, animator, and a hands-on producer who can manage projects from concept to final delivery while collaborating across internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end production of short and mid-form videos including concept development, scripting/storyboards, editing, and post-production
  • Create compelling animated content including book trailers, motion graphics, stop motion, and GIFs
  • Partner with in-house studio team to schedule, concept, and execute live shoots with authors, staff, and partner talent
  • Develop engaging video content for social media, paid digital campaigns, websites, email marketing, and retail partners
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships (freelancers, agencies, studios)
  • Optimize video content for various platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), ensuring best practices for format, length, accessibility, and engagement
  • Analyze performance metrics and apply insights to improve future video campaigns
  • Stay current on digital video trends, best practices, emerging platforms, and audience behaviors

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in video production, preferably in publishing, media, entertainment, or marketing
  • Strong reel/portfolio demonstrating 2D animation skills, video editing, and multi-platform content creation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop); motion graphics skills a plus
  • Experience producing content for social-first platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with talent (authors, influencers, models/performers, or on-camera personalities)
  • Knowledge of video analytics tools and performance optimization
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for books, storytelling, and children's media
  • Experience with paid media creative or performance marketing campaigns
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (captions, audio descriptions)

Additional Information
This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities (approximately 2-3 days a week). We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, and NY).
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
