Position Summary:

The PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Inspector is responsible for completing detailed inspections on all Midwest Automotive Design units prior to shipment. This includes both pre-delivery and ready-to-ship inspections. The inspector plays a key role in ensuring all units meet internal quality standards and are fully functional prior to customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections and final inspections on all vehicle units.
  • Evaluate the form, fit, and function of components and systems installed in vehicles.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor issues, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Interpret and apply quality standards consistently across units.
  • ย Accurately document inspection results using computers or tablets.
  • Communicate findings clearly to appropriate departments.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Apply feedback to continuously improve inspection processes.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Experience using air/power and hand tools.
  • Proficient in reading a tape measure and applying basic math.
  • General computer and tablet proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment.
  • Must be reliable with consistent, on-time attendance.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification or associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in general assembly, vehicle inspection, or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, squat, and climb ladders/scaffolding.
  • Ability to work with arms above the head.
  • Regularly lift and move 25 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
  • Must be able to operate and understand all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
