Pdi Inspection information

What is a PDI inspection?

A PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) job involves inspecting vehicles, equipment, or products before they are delivered to customers. The goal is to ensure everything meets quality and safety standards by checking for defects, functionality issues, and proper assembly. Inspectors follow detailed checklists, perform tests, and may make minor repairs or adjustments. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and reducing post-delivery issues.

What does a typical day look like for a PDI inspection inspector?

As a PDI Inspector, your day typically involves systematically checking new vehicles or equipment to ensure they meet manufacturer standards before delivery to customers. You'll inspect for cosmetic or mechanical issues, complete detailed checklists, and may perform minor adjustments or repairs as needed. The role often requires collaboration with dealership technicians, sales teams, or logistics staff to coordinate deliveries and address any defects found during inspection. This position can be fast-paced, especially during high-volume sales periods, and offers insight into quality processes and opportunities for advancement within quality assurance or service management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the PDI inspection position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Inspector, you need keen attention to detail, knowledge of automotive or equipment inspection procedures, and familiarity with quality assurance standards. Experience using diagnostic tools, inspection checklists, and sometimes holding certifications like ASE or manufacturer-specific credentials is often required. Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and teamwork make candidates stand out in this role. These skills ensure every product meets safety and quality standards before reaching customers, helping maintain company reputation and customer satisfaction.

Automotive Technician (310S)

Job description

Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S) — Oakville, ON

Certified Auto Technician | Licensed Mechanic | Automotive Service Technician
Flat-rate pay $38 - $45.50/hour, an employer that actually invests in your training, and a shop that runs on manufacturer-standard processes — not shortcuts.
If you're a licensed 310S technician who takes pride in getting the diagnosis right the first time, this is worth your attention. You'd be joining a well-established, employee-centric dealership group in Oakville that has built its reputation on long-term staff retention rather than revolving-door hiring — which shows up in how much they invest in the people already on their team.
This isn't a shop where you're just another set of hands. You'll work across new and Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, with real support from Service Advisors and the Parts Department so you're not stuck waiting on parts to hit your numbers.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Career progression here happens from within — the group actively promotes internally rather than hiring above existing staff. You'll have consistent access to manufacturer training to stay current, a genuine work-life balance culture (including efforts to protect long weekends where possible), and a team environment built around collaboration rather than internal competition between technicians.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Complete repair orders efficiently and accurately, in line with dealership and manufacturer standards
  • Perform warranty repairs and prepare the documentation required to support each claim
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors and the Parts Department to confirm parts availability
  • Perform Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) inspections and complete all approved work
  • Install accessories, complete PDI inspections, and diagnose and repair faults on new and used vehicles
  • Conduct road tests to confirm the quality of every repair
  • Stay current on technical skills through ongoing training and manufacturer courses
  • Maintain compliance with safety requirements, PPE use, hazardous waste disposal, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
What We're Looking For
  • Current Ontario Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S) certification
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
  • Hands-on experience with repair orders, warranty documentation, and vehicle diagnostics in a dealership environment
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to quality workmanship
Compensation & Work Model
Flat rate of $38 to $45.50 per hour. Onsite. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Location & Travel
Based in Oakville, ON. No travel required.
