Progressive Directions, Inc. (PDI) is looking for a dependable, hardworking Janitorial Floor Technician who takes pride in doing the job right and seeing the results of their work.


If you have experience with stripping, waxing, buffing, and maintaining commercial floors-or you're ready to bring your cleaning and floor-care experience to a team that values quality and reliability-we want to hear from you!


What You'll Do

As a Floor Technician, you'll help keep our customer locations clean, safe, and looking their best. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strip, wax, and buff floors as needed
  • Operate floor-care equipment and use cleaning supplies safely and properly
  • Inspect equipment before each shift and report maintenance concerns
  • Complete assigned work according to established schedules
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with PDI customers
  • Help ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are available when needed
  • Assist with monthly supply inventories and replenishment requests
  • Follow OSHA requirements and applicable safety procedures
  • Serve as backup support to the Crew Chief when needed
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Complete other duties assigned by the Supported Employment Supervisor

Requirements

What We're Looking For: We're looking for someone who is reliable, responsible, safety-minded, and not afraid of physical work.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED OR related experience/training
  • Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, or floor-care experience preferred
  • Ability to safely operate floor-care equipment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer-service skills
  • Supervisory experience or training
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license  or valid Kentucky driver's license
  • Must successfully meet required criminal background check, drug testing, and driving-record requirements
  • Must meet PDI employment and training requirements
Physical Requirements: This is an active position. Employees must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed
  • Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • Safely work around cleaning products and floor-care equipment
