Job Summary:
LeCom Utility Contractors has established itself as one of the premier contractors in the Telecommunications and Power industries. With our experienced staff and fleet of vehicles, we are able to meet telephone and power construction needs from concept through to reality.
LeCom Utility Contractors is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Administrator to manage and process payroll for a diverse workforce including field crews, CDL drivers, and administrative staff. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including construction and multi-state requirements.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll for field and office employees, including hourly, and salaried workers
  • Accurately calculate overtime, prevailing wages (if applicable), bonuses, and deductions
  • Review and verify timesheets from field crews, foremen, and supervisors
  • Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and labor allocation
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including tax forms, direct deposits, and benefit deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including multi-state payroll requirements
  • Process garnishments, child support, and other wage attachments
  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction, utilities, or infrastructure services
  • Experience processing payroll for field employees and multi-state operations
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
