We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and ensure our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
This is a highly visible role that partners closely with HR, Accounting, and Operations while serving as the organization's payroll subject matter expert. What You'll Do
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee payroll taxes, garnishments, deductions, benefits, and year-end reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and issue resolution.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected in payroll.
  • Develop and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and documentation.
  • Analyze payroll data and provide reporting and insights to leadership.
  • Lead payroll-related audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and leverage automation.
  • Support payroll system enhancements, implementations, and ongoing optimization efforts.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
  • Experience processing complex multi-state payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-state high growth environment.
  • Experience with payroll platforms such as Rippling, Paychex, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Workday, Dayforce, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, conversions, or system migrations is a plus.
  • Experience with commissions, bonuses, and variable compensation structures preferred.
