Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join a corporate organization located in the Washington, DC/Tysons, VA area. Responsibilities of the Payroll Analyst include: • Review, analyze, and process regular payroll and special off-cycle payrolls accurately and on time • Support daily payroll operations, including payroll reconciliation, reporting, auditing, and data validation • Review and analyze employee pay, time and attendance, paid time off, and payroll system data for accuracy • Research payroll discrepancies, data inconsistencies, and identify corrective actions • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed • Prepare, generate, and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders • Review and audit payroll processing activities and tax reconciliations for accuracy and compliance • Maintain complete and organized payroll records and electronic documentation • Assist with payroll system upgrades, testing, implementations, and process changes • Research payroll regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices • Identify opportunities for process improvements and update standard operating procedures • Assist with special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and team training efforts as needed Qualifications for the Payroll Analyst include: • 2-3+ years of payroll processing experience required • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered • Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, reporting, and payroll compliance • Experience working with payroll systems; Oracle Payroll experience preferred but not required • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting • Ability to review large volumes of payroll data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) preferred • Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements Compensation for the Payroll Analyst includes: • Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience • Comprehensive Benefit Package: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as Required by Law This job is open for applications on July 7th, 2026.
