About the Company

At Current, everything starts with people. We believe that when you invest in talent through opportunity, development, and support, you unlock growth for individuals, firms, and clients alike. That’s why we’ve built a platform designed to give our people access to more: more learning, more collaboration, and more ways to grow their careers than any single firm could offer on its own.
Founded in 2023, Current has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing accounting platforms in the country, partnering with more than 40 leading accounting firms across the United States. Today, our community includes over 2,000 professionals, 30+ offices nationwide, and a growing global workforce that supports clients around the world. Backed by Thrive Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Springdale Industries, Current is investing heavily in technology, artificial intelligence, and workforce innovation to help modernize the profession. Our leadership team has a proven track record of building and scaling successful businesses, with prior ventures generating more than $3 billion in combined enterprise value.
We’re building something bigger than a traditional accounting firm: a platform where talented people can grow faster, learn more, and do more meaningful work. Whether you join Current, one of our partner firms, or our global team, you’ll be part of a community shaping the future of the profession.

At Bowers Accountants & Advisors, Powered by CURRENT, we believe that great business decisions are powered by understanding the numbers behind the business. Our Client Accounting and Advisory services (CAAS) are built to provide modern, dynamic solutions for businesses that want to thrive. We maintain a robust reputation grounded in integrity. As a forward-thinking, not-your-typical CPA firm, we have offices in Syracuse, Rochester, Watertown, and Ithaca, New York.

Job Summary:

Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) offers outsourced accounting services, including full-service CFO Advisory Services; controller, bookkeeping, vendor bill processing and payment, customer invoicing, payroll processing and tax reporting, and sales tax preparation. If you’re ready to be part of a team that’s focused on delivering practical, high-impact solutions, we’d love to talk to you. Here, you’ll collaborate with innovative thinkers and help businesses make the most of their financial and accounting opportunities. In this role, you will be a member of our CAAS group accountable for providing Senior Accountant-level accounting services, including processing payables and receivables, and various other accounting operations for assigned clients.

Bowers is unable to hire candidates with any current or requests for future sponsorships.

Requirements:

  • Oversee and manage responsibilities of assigned CAAS transactional staff

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all transaction processing performed by CAAS transaction staff

  • Perform monthly accounting reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts for assigned clients

  • Manage month-end close for assigned clients

  • Assist with development of financial budgets

  • Prepare and analyze financial reporting

  • Assist in preparing proposals for CAAS services

  • Participate in marketing events

Qualifications:

  • B.S degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting with 2 years supervisory experience

  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communicator

  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to manage priorities and workflow

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000 DOE

Compensation & Benefits

The total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.
Our salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
We provide a robust benefits package, including:

  • Company-Paid Life and Long-Term & Short-Term Disability Insurance
