Job description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a travel company on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will help manage accurate and timely payroll operations for a large employee population while supporting day-to-day payroll administration. This opportunity is well suited for an individual who is comfortable working with payroll systems, reporting tools, and high-volume processing in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time completion.
• Review payroll records across multiple systems, identify discrepancies, and resolve data inconsistencies before payroll is finalized.
• Administer payroll activities for a non-union employee population while following applicable company policies and payroll regulations.
• Support workers’ compensation payroll-related tasks, including maintaining accurate records and addressing related adjustments when needed.
• Monitor and manage the payroll inbox, respond to employee and internal stakeholder inquiries, and provide timely issue resolution.
• Prepare and analyze HRIS and payroll reports to support audits, reconciliations, and routine payroll review processes.
• Use Rippling and Microsoft Excel to maintain payroll data, perform validations, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Assist with ongoing payroll project work and contribute to process execution tied to broader team priorities.• At least 3 years of experience in payroll, including full-cycle payroll processing responsibilities.
• Proven ability to process payroll for large employee groups of 500 or more.
• Hands-on experience managing multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of bi-weekly payroll procedures and payroll compliance fundamentals.
• Experience using payroll platforms or HRIS tools, with Rippling preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data review, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation payroll support and related recordkeeping.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information accurately and confidentially.
