Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day processes related to delivering accurate and high-quality payment to all employees in the company. This role reports to Payroll/Human Resources to ensure both excellence in payroll accounting and financial controls and also partnership with the overall HR services delivered to our leaders and employees as payroll is a key deliverable toour employees.

*This is a hybrid-based position located in Dallas, TX*

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administers processing payroll for all Sonida communities.
  • Works with the payroll team to ensure that all new hires, terminations, and employee changes are reflected in the HRIS and provides Tier II support to our management team and employees to ensure that all employee/payroll records are correct.
  • Ensures that payroll processes are aligned and following all financial controls and that timely reporting and accounting entries are available to accounting function to create accurate reflection of payroll expense in company financial reporting.
  • Partners with both HR leadership team and Reporting/Accounting leadership team to refine processes, ensure excellence and quality in the payroll processing function and create seamless integration with all other employee processes to deliver payroll along with all HR services.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years experience in Payroll function, minimum of 2-3 years of payroll processing experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience in multi-site payroll processing, highly desired

Skill/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Experience with electronic payroll processing systems, UKG Pro experience highly desired
  • Ability to supervisor multiple subordinates to ensure systematic, consistent and accurate payroll processing
  • Great communication and collaboration as this role serves as a connection between HR and Reporting/Accounting to deliver best pay experience for our employees
  • Excellent process management skills – developing and maintaining process files for all components of payroll process
