Job description


The Timekeeper is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of employee work hours and paid time off. This role involves entering missed punches, updating schedules, and ensuring all timecard entries are accurate in the ADP time system on a bi-weekly basis


Prioritized Essential Job Functions, Authorities and Responsibilities

In order of importance and time spent annually, list the expected duties of this job.

With limited supervision

  • Entering Missed Punches: Accurately enter any missed punches to ensure all employee work hours are recorded.
  • Updating Schedules: Regularly update employee schedules to reflect any changes or adjustments.
  • Entering Paid Time Off: Record and manage paid time off (PTO) requests and ensure they are accurately reflected in the system.
  • Ensuring Time Accuracy: Verify that all time entries are accurate and compliant with company policies and relevant labor laws.
  • Bi-Weekly Time System Updates: Ensure that all timecard entries are updated in the ADP time system on a bi-weekly basis for payroll processing.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between employees and payroll analysts, addressing any timekeeping-related inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Training: Provide training for new employees on timekeeping procedures and software usage.
  • Security management: Serve as a back-up for employee access issues and resolutions.
  • Time management pages: Serve as the point of contact for entering and updating of employee time pages for pay rules, accrual profiles, and managers to ensure employeeโ€™s proper timecard and accruals are correct.
  • Act as back-up for payroll processor: This may include but not limited to, adding entries for bonuses, preforming quick calcs, running the payroll, sending g/l entries to finance, reviewing maintenance entries for accuracy, or other tasks as needed.


Education / Experience / Skills Requirement

โ€ข Experience with timekeeping systems, preferably ADP and Kronos.

โ€ข Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

โ€ข Excellent organizational and time management skills.

โ€ข Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

โ€ข Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to timekeeping and payroll.

โ€ข A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.

Certifications, licenses, or registrations:

  • FPC or CPP nice but not required.


Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills.
