Payroll Administrator

BIOTRONIK is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support accurate and compliant payroll operations across the organization. This role is responsible for processing payroll, auditing compensation data, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
As a key member of the Accounting team, you'll collaborate with employees and internal partners to resolve payroll inquiries, maintain records, and support month-end and year-end activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll and month end payroll entries.
  • Calculates and audits all related payroll payments.
  • Ability to handle the processing of Leave of Absence and understand the rules and regulations around those leaves.
  • Solid understanding of garnishment processing both for employees.
  • Ensures compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
  • Ability to handle employee inquiries and resolve payroll related issues.
  • Assist in reconciliation of payroll general ledger and cash accounts.
  • Assists in the maintenance and development of desk procedures, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all year end process are reconciled timely and accurately including W-2s.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position requires a demonstrated commitment to attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheet development, report generation and presentation as needed.
  • Demonstrated application of in-depth payroll practices and knowledge.
  • General knowledge of payroll tax rules and regulations as mandated by local, state, and federal governments.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and coordinate activities with varying levels of employees.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion regarding confidential and sensitive matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum two years of Payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Multi-company and multi-state processing in ADP's Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • American Payroll Association Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role is based in our Lake Oswego, Oregon office and follows a hybrid work model, combining a professional office environment with the option to work remotely up to four days per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may vary depending on time zone supported. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
