Key Responsibilities:

The Payer Contracting Administrator plays a critical role in driving revenue and access to care by expertly managing payer contracts, credentialing, and enrollment across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans. This highly collaborative role leads payer initiatives, strengthens payer relationships, and delivers data-driven insights that support growth, compliance, and new service expansion.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Contract & Payer Management
  • Manage managed care payer contracts (new, renewals, amendments, re-papering).
  • Maintain accurate contract records, terms, and payer contacts.

Credentialing & Enrollment

  • Credential and recredential sites with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers.
  • Track provider and facility identifiers (NPI, MMIS, PTAN).

Project & Payer Operations:

  • Lead payer-related projects and research reimbursement for new services.
  • Support implementation of new payer requirements and contractual changes.

Database, Audit & Reporting

  • Maintain contracting and credentialing databases and audit-ready documentation.
  • Compile operational and financial reports; provide payer performance insights.

Payer Relations:

  • Serve as primary contact and maintain strong payer relationships.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Experience in managed care contracting, credentialing, or healthcare administration - Required.
    • Working in an Article 28 and/or Federally Qualified Health Center system - Preferred.
    • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer processes.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
