To excel as a Pay Per Chart Medical Coder, you need a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines, often supported by completion of a coding certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent. Expertise in using coding software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and medical billing platforms is typically required. Precision, time management, and strong self-motivation are standout soft skills for those working in this productivity-based position.
