POSITION SUMMARY

MOD BIKES is seeking a Full-Time E-Bike Mechanic to join our Garage team in Austin, TX. If you love working with your hands, take pride in quality workmanship, and have a passion for bikes, especially electric ones, this is your opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company that’s shaping the future of urban transportation.


As an E-Bike Mechanic, you’ll perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, repairs, and bike assemblies while working alongside a supportive team. You’ll help ensure every bike that leaves our shop is road-ready and every customer interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional service.

What You'll Do
Technical Service & Bike Assembly
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric bikes, including tune-ups, drivetrain and brake adjustments, and general troubleshooting.
  • Assemble and tune new e-bikes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform safety checks, inspections, and diagnostics on incoming bikes.
  • Maintain the MOD demo fleet to ensure bikes are always in ride-ready condition.
  • Assist with bike packing and shipping as needed.

Shop Collaboration
  • Support the sales team with test ride prep and light bike adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workshop and ensure tools and equipment are properly cared for.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of experience as a bike mechanic (e-bike experience a plus).
  • Strong working knowledge of drivetrain systems, brake systems (mechanical & hydraulic), and bike assembly.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs).
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort with tools like Shopify, Slack, or Freshdesk a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with electric bike systems such as Shimano, Bafang, or Bosch.
  • General handyman skills such as basic welding or light woodworking.
