Position Summary

Provide clean guest rooms and a clean pleasant environment for guests, visitors and other employees.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Duties

  • Ensure that you have adequate supplies of linens, cleaning products and guest amenities at the beginning of your shift. Restock as necessary.
  • Clean assigned guest rooms in accordance with established Hotel Housekeeping Department procedures.
  • Coordinate with Inspector on preparing special rooms as needed.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to any requests from guests. If you are not able to assist them directly, find someone who can.
  • Be thoroughly knowledgeable of where all hotel facilities are located and all emergency procedures. Be prepared to assist the Manager On Duty (MOD) in an emergency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

Education: General Education and/or comparable work experience

Required Knowledge: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of hotel facilities. Good attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.

Required Experience: Minimum 6 months hotel room cleaning experience is required.

Work Environment: The duties for this position are carried out indoors. The employee will be exposed to contact with chemical mixtures when filling cleaning chemical container and while cleaning rooms.

Physical Activities: To perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must be able to see, speak and hear. An individual must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time with constant bending, stooping and reaching required. An individual should also be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and may frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs. Manual dexterity is necessary for the manipulation of cleaning tools, linens, guest amenities, paperwork, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
