Inventory Forecaster & Purchaser (Amazon FBA & Multi-Warehouse Operations)

Company: Avid Cycles / eCommerce Operations
Location: Hesperia, CA (primary warehouse) with responsibility for 3 total warehouse locations
Type: Full-time
Reports to: Business Owner / eCommerce Operations Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Forecaster & Purchaser to manage purchasing, forecasting, and inventory operations for our Amazon FBA program and physical warehouses. This role is critical for optimizing stock levels, minimizing stockouts and overstock, tracking mobile/transfer inventory across locations, and supporting efficient multi-channel fulfillment (Amazon FBA/FBM, Walmart, eBay, etc.). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced e-commerce environment, excels at data analysis, and maintains high accuracy in transactions, claims, and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demand Forecasting & Purchasing:
    • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for Amazon FBA and warehouse inventory using historical sales data, trends, seasonality, and promotional calendars.
    • Place purchase orders with vendors and suppliers to support FBA replenishment and warehouse stocking needs.
    • Monitor inventory levels across all channels and locations to ensure optimal stock while controlling costs and storage fees.
  • Warehouse Stocking & Replenishment:
    • Oversee receiving, stocking, and organization of inventory in 3 warehouse locations.
    • Coordinate transfers and mobile inventory movements between warehouses and fulfillment centers.
    • Ensure accurate physical counts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Data Analysis & Inventory Tracking:
    • Analyze sales, inventory, and transaction data to identify trends, slow-moving items, and opportunities for optimization.
    • Track all inventory transactions (receipts, shipments, adjustments, sales) across systems to maintain real-time visibility of mobile and fixed inventory.
    • Generate regular reports on key metrics such as inventory turnover, days on hand, fill rates, and FBA performance.
  • Shipping Claims & Compliance:
    • Submit, track, and resolve shipping claims with carriers (UPS, Amazon, etc.) for lost, damaged, or delayed shipments.
    • Support hazmat compliance documentation and processes as needed for applicable products (e.g., aerosols, lubricants).
  • Data Entry & Administrative Support:
    • Perform accurate and timely data entry into inventory management systems, Amazon Seller Central, spreadsheets, and other tools.
    • Maintain SKU master data, costs, pricing, and vendor records.
    • Assist with reconciliation of inventory records versus physical counts and financial transactions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably in e-commerce or Amazon FBA operations.
    • Proven track record with forecasting tools, inventory software, and data analysis (Excel/Google Sheets advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.).
    • Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, FBA replenishment tools, and multi-channel platforms (Walmart, eBay) is a strong plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in transaction tracking and data entry.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with inventory management systems or custom tools (Python/CSV-based tracking a plus).
    • Knowledge of shipping processes, claims handling, and basic logistics.
  • Education & Other:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
    • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between local warehouse locations.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Paid time off, and performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to business growth in a hands-on e-commerce operation.
  • Collaborative environment with a focus on process improvement and custom tooling.

To Apply:
Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant experience with Amazon FBA inventory forecasting and multi-location warehouse management.

This role is essential for keeping our operations efficient, our shelves stocked, and our customers satisfied. If you’re passionate about inventory optimization and thrive on turning data into smart purchasing decisions, we’d love to hear from you!
