Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Patient Support Assistant

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Patient Support Assistant
  • Location: Mt. Prospect, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-7pm with rotating Saturday-Sunday 8am-4pm
  • Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs

What you will do:

  • Answer all incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments and handle each as appropriate in accordance with NorthShore telephone customer service standards and practice protocols including documenting in Epic telephone encounters
  • Utilize Epic to schedule and register all new, established, and post-procedure patients in accordance with patient and physician preferences, physician availability, and practice protocols
  • Obtain prior authorization for procedures
  • Review provider templates
  • Provide other administrative support under the direction of the Physicians and Practice Manager

What you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
  • Certification: N/A
  • Experience: 1 - 2 years in an administrative/customer service position, EPIC knowledge and experience preferred. Enjoy working at a fast past with the capacity to multi-task, displays flexibility, and takes initiative
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: N/A
