Job description

GRX Holdings, LLC, a privately-held company based in West Des Moines owning Medicap Pharmacy retail pharmacy locations, has an opening for Clinical Student Pharmacist full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year at our OneroRx Corporate office in West Des Moines.

Under regular supervision of a licensed pharmacist the Clinical Intern will provide a full range of patient services by assisting with clinical programs and medication therapy management encounters as allowable by Iowa law for a Pharmacist-Intern.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Must hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment board of pharmacy
  • Ability to readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications, and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand
  • Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team
  • Follow company policies and procedures including patient confidentiality.
  • Conduct Medication Therapy Management encounters including comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs) and Targeted Interventions (TIPs) under pharmacist supervision.
  • Following the completion of proper training, verify patient demographics and submit refill requests at patient’s request.
  • Perform patient assessments (medication histories, adherence evaluations, disease state monitoring)
  • Identify and document medication-related problems and assist in developing care plans
  • Provide patient education on medications, disease states, and lifestyle modifications
  • Accurately document clinical encounters in appropriate platforms to support billing and reimbursement
  • Assist in delivering and documenting billable clinical service including but not limited to remote patient monitoring, A1C collection, wellness visits.
  • Participate in follow-up and continuity of care for patients enrolled in clinical programs
  • Assist in planning and organizing clinical services (vaccination clinics, health screenings)
  • Assist in business outreach and scheduling for off site vaccine clinics
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records and billing platforms
  • Create educational content for sites to utilize for patient care activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school
  • Strong science background
  • Knowledge of the metric system and good math skills
  • Familiarity with pharmacy terminology
  • Medication names and aseptic techniques desirable
  • Pharmacy intern license required
