By acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies, they make the payment process smoother and less stressful.

What are the duties and responsibilities of a patient financial coordinator?

The duties and responsibilities of a patient financial coordinator include assessing and providing financial verification and authorization for patients seeking particular medical services. In this role, you review patients’ benefits and coverage regarding specific procedures and services, such as transplants or chemotherapy. You work as a liaison between the patient and the insurance company, consult with your clients regarding their different options, and advocate on their behalf to seek workable financial options related to accessing services. You typically work as part of a team of professionals tasked with assessing the financial risk associated with medical care.

Our ideal candidate can provide an outstanding patient experience while confidently managing insurance, patient finances, administrative responsibilities, and marketing follow-up.
What You'll Own
  • Delivering a warm, professional and efficient patient experience
  • Managing a fast-paced front desk, including check-in, check-out, scheduling and phone communication
  • Responding quickly to new patient leads and converting inquiries into scheduled appointments
  • Verifying or understanding insurance benefits and clearly communicating coverage and patient responsibility
  • Presenting care-plan financial options and helping patients select appropriate payment arrangements
  • Collecting payments, monitoring patient balances and following through on declined payments
  • Supporting authorizations, referrals, claim documentation and insurance follow-up
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring tasks are completed on time
  • Recovering missed appointments and helping prevent patients from falling out of care
  • Supporting reactivation campaigns, review requests, referral initiatives and community outreach
  • Tracking and executing assigned marketing activities and following through until results are documented
  • Identifying workflow problems and helping create better systems
  • Supporting additional administrative and office-management responsibilities as earned

Experience That Would Make You Stand Out
  • Chiropractic, medical, dental, physical therapy or other healthcare front-office experience
  • Knowledge of chiropractic insurance policies and patient workflows
  • Experience with VA Community Care referrals, authorizations or documentation
  • Personal injury experience, including communication with attorneys, adjusters and patients and PI referrals
  • Experience presenting financial options, collecting payments or discussing treatment costs
  • Marketing, sales, business development or community-outreach experience
  • Strong relationships or involvement within the Fort Worth or Benbrook community
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
  • Experience in a growing small business where team members take ownership beyond their basic job descriptions

Chiropractic experience is a major plus, but character, capability and follow-through matter most.
You May Be Our Rockstar If You:
  • Work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
  • Are exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
  • Follow through and close loops without being chased
  • Remain calm, positive and resourceful during busy periods
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with patients
  • Are comfortable discussing money and collecting payment
  • Can prioritize multiple responsibilities without losing track of details
  • Take initiative while still following established policies and procedures
  • Enjoy marketing, building relationships and helping a business grow
  • Are dependable, coachable and accountable
  • Think like an owner and consistently look for ways to improve the patient experience and the practice

This Position Is Not a Fit If You:
  • Need frequent reminders to complete assigned work
  • Struggle with speed, accuracy or attention to detail
  • Avoid difficult conversations about balances or financial responsibility
  • Wait to be told about every next step
  • Become easily overwhelmed in a fast-paced environment
  • View marketing or community outreach as "someone else's job"
  • Want a position where simply showing up is considered success

What We Offer
  • A meaningful role in a growing, patient-focused healthcare business
  • The opportunity to make a visible impact on the success of the clinic

Location: Southwest Fort Worth/Benbrook area
Please include the phrase "I close the loop" in your application so we know you read the entire posting.
