We are searching for a talented Patient Accounts Financial Navigator.

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: Southcoast Business Center โ€“ Fairhaven, MA

Travel: Driving on average 3 or more times per week required

Responsibilities

Position reports to the Manager and Team Leader, Patient Financial Services. Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to providing excellent customer service, evaluating patients who are uninsured or underinsured to review for eligibility of various state & federal assistance programs that meet the Massachusetts state laws. Initiate and file all appropriate applications through the virtual gateway program, social security administration, and any other applicable agencies. Navigate patients and/or patients family through the enrollment process. Advise and assist patients and family with financial planning required for long term care and rehabilitative services. Work in partnership with internal departments, Social Services, Care Coordination and Patient Care to assist with patient movement and placement.

Qualifications
  • Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training.
  • Strong background in medical customer service work is required.
  • Experience in billing and medical terminology preferred.
  • Prior collection experience is preferred.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Required to have the ability to deal with the public in a professional manner.
  • Ability to present and inform at Community Benefit functions.
  • Preferred over three years of related healthcare advocacy.
  • Certified Application Counselor certification at hire or within 3 months of hire date
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
  • Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
Pay Range

USD $19.90 - USD $29.70 /Hr.
