We are seeking a full-time Patient Coordinator to join our team!
Mid America Health is currently seeking an onsite Full-Time Patient Coordinator to join our growing School Smiles team! This position plays an essential role in coordinating patient appointments, managing daily clinic schedules, and supporting efficient clinic operations to maximize patient access and productivity. The Patient Coordinator will schedule patient care and treatment appointments, maintain provider clinic schedules, and communicate regularly with families, and clinic staff.


The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. Strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.


Essential Responsibilities


Schedule patient appointments for preventive and restorative dental treatment.
Maintain provider schedules to maximize productivity and minimize scheduling gaps.
Review treatment plans and ensure appropriate appointment lengths are scheduled.
Manage appointment cancellations and rescheduling.
Verify all required documentation and consents are received prior to scheduling.
Monitor provider and school clinic hours availability and adjust schedules as needed.
Work closely with Account Managers, Insurance Services, parents and field staff to resolve patient scheduling and conflicts.
Respond professionally to incoming phone calls and patient inquiries.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with special scheduling projects, patient referrals, and operational initiatives as assigned.


Patient Coordinator Job Requirements:


Minimum of 1 year experience scheduling or administrative experience, preferably in a dental or medical office.
Dental scheduling experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology and treatment procedures preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
